Dental Bonding

This restorative procedure bonds a tooth-colored resin to your tooth and cured with an ultraviolet light. This service is faster and less expensive than dental veneers and porcelain crowns, which can be a great option for patients who are looking to make small cosmetic improvements to your smile. Not every makeover has to be extravagant - even the smallest change can make a big difference when it comes to your smile!

Unlike veneers, dental bonding can be done within one visit to Kingman Dental Group since there is no custom-made products from our laboratory. Additionally, this procedure requires removing less of the tooth enamel compared to restorations like veneers and crowns. It's imporant to note that this form of restoration isn't as long-lasting as other options and is less resistant to stains and discoloration. It's more often used for those small cosmetic touch ups rather than extreme major restorations.

How Dental Bonding is Done
The bonding procedure typically requires between 30 to 60 minutes to complete for each individual tooth. The first step has our dentists determine exactly what color shade your teeth are to select the right resin to make the bonding blend naturally. We want to make your smile fit you, which is why we take the time and care to ensure everything is comfortable and natural.

After the proper color is determined, we'll prepare the tooth so the bonding material will adhere easier. This involves roughening the surface of the tooth and applying a liquid conditioner. After, we'll apply the resin to the tooth and cure it in place utilizing an ultraviolet light, completing the actual bond. Once this is finished, we're onto the finishing touches of shaping and polishing the resin so it's a good, comfortable, and natural-looking fit for your smile.
